The "Studios with Mezzanine Rua da Moeda” at Cais do Sodré (officially MISERICÓRDIA neighbourhood), are a set of 7 Studio apartments sized from 37m2 to 93m2, with or without a terrace or balcony, located on the 2nd floor of a traditional building from the late eighteenth century with original Portuguese tiles along the staircase.

The once seedy Cais do Sodré has had a makeover, and the fashionable restaurants, bars and clubs that once attracted sailors and street walkers now attract the hip and the trendy.

You may rent our fully equipped and furnished and nicely decorated Studios for periods of 2 nights or more. On particular weekdays you may even rent a Studio for just 1 night!

​They are all equipped with air conditioning and washing machines.

There is free Wi-Fi in all Studios Mezzanine.

We are pet-friendly (only dogs!) but subject to request when booking us and will just be confirmed when staying in Studio 5, 6, Studio 7/8 or Studio 9. An additional fee applies of 50,00€/dog/stay.

​Each Studio Mezzanine is full of details. There is a king- or- queen-sized bed prepared with beautiful bedsheets and "romantic flavour" below the roof of the building. The special charm is the wooden planks which hold the roof and are visible inside all Studios.

The living area comes with one or two sofa beds or foldable futons which are very comfortable. The flat screen TV receive either satellite or cable TV or both.

Each bathroom at Studios Mezzanine comes with a shower and natural ventilation is done through a window.
The kitchen is integrated in the living area and is fully fitted with all appliances and utensils for short- and long-term stays.

​Please note we do not clean the Studio during your stay. No meals are served either. There is self-catering -procedure in all Studios.

There is a mandatory extra charge  for prepapration and final cleaning which is not included in the overnight price.

Down the "7-hill-city ", on the waterfront, Cais do Sodré ( pronounced kaiysh doo sodray) is a colourful, but slightly down-at-heel suburb which has become hip for locals and visitors thanks to an appealing riverfront promenade, tasteful warehouse conversions and the Mercado da Ribeira, the main market, much of it now given over to TIME OUT MAGAZINE who introduced food stalls serving top cuisine. Many of the area´s waterfront warehouses have been converted into upmarket cafés and restaurants and by day, in particular, a stroll along its atmospheric riverfront is very enjoyable. Cais do Sodré is also the main departure point for ferries over the Tejo - a ride to the little port of Cacilhas is recommended -- while eponymous station is the terminus of the rail line out to Cascais, just like the green metro line. Buses, Airport-shuttle, tramways, taxis, trolleys, electric bikes ...all is centred in this spot.

​ Cais do Sodré is a nightlife area and famous pink street is just 250 meters away.

The Studios Mezzanine are 50 meters away from Elevador da Bica, just below and south of the neighbourhoods Bica, Bairro Alto and Chiado which is very you go shopping. The airport is just 8,5km away in the north of the city.

Parking in the underground and public parking lot called MERCADO DA RIBEIRA – CAIS DO SODRÉ right in front of the building.

The underground parking "MERCADO DA RIBEIRA - CAIS DO SODRE" costs €29 / 24 hours.

To park more economically there are 3 ways. Download the TELPARK App for your mobile device and choose to:

a) EXPRESS entry with 30% discount;

b) Reservation for 1 or more days costs €12/24h with free cancellation 24 hours in advance.

c) MULTIPASS. Buy a minimum of 5 passes and park for €3/12h. Valid for 1 year.

Cais do Sodré neighbourhood is at the waterfront and an excellent point for starting to climb up the 7- hill- city of Lisbon.

Portuguese people are mostly friendly and their food and wine are one of the best in the world.

According to independent reviews this is the preferential area for visitors,
as it is very central and has all kinds of highlights "next door".
